Why are babies so ridiculously cute?? I adore them. This little guy is the baby of my best friend in middle school. How crazy is that?!

Congrats on your happy little 4 month old

I photographed a gorgeous pregnant mama the other night, and had such a blast, I wanted to do it again. This super easy and affordable mini-session is great for the pregnant mama who wants a few images to capture this amazing time. Feel free to tell your friends! Space is limited and slots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
*TX State Sales Tax of 8.25% will be added to all orders. The session includes time and talent only; prints or digital files may be purchased through your on-line gallery after your session. The Maternity Mini-Sessions are for the mom and a significant other only; no children please. All sales are final. Please enter your preferred time in the text box below.

This is Jessica, who I was friends with in high school and then a bit in college, but haven’t seen in about 5 years. It’s funny how life is, how two friends go from being in photography class together in Dripping Springs, to staying up all night drinking Lone Star (we made ourselves like beer, so we wouldn’t be that girl), to one of us being a real life photographer and the other starting a family (is it okay to admit I’m a teensy bit jealous?). I haven’t seen her in about five years, but thanks to Facebook, we hooked up for some maternity portraits. I made the long country drive out to Blanco where we luckily had some amazing property to shoot on, in addition to the small quaint buildings of the town.

Hopefully I’ll be photographing the little baby when she introduces herself to this world. Congrats Jessica!

Working from home is probably one of the biggest perks of my job as a photographer. It’s pretty amazing to be able to stay in my pj’s until noon while editing on my Mac, listening to Pandora. I love that I can go take my dogs out for a quick walk and that I have easy access to a kitchen stocked with iced tea and pb&j sandwiches. There are a couple of drawbacks though, one being the feeling of isolation. I usually work really well by myself (I was always that kid in school who opted to work alone if groups were an option), but it does sometimes leave me feeling lonely.
So when I heard about NAPCP, the National Association of Professional Child Photographers, I thought it would be a great chance to meet other like-minded people in the same kind of situation. I recently attended their retreat in Napa Valley California, and while wine really isn’t my thing (maybe someday? I did eventually become addicted to coffee after years of saying I hated it), I had an awesome time hanging out with other portrait photographers. The women I met are amazing artists just as passionate about photography as I am. We had a blast during our evening shoot, photographing many families at once. Fifty cameras and lots of kiddos added up to be quite the experience, and I’m super happy with all the images I walked away with.
I’m so grateful for NAPCP and hope to grow with them as they get more and more awesome. Some of my favorites from our big night of shooting:
